My New Primavera 200 Violin Sounds Extremely Good - My Lessons Are 100% French

I'm learning both Violin and French language, so what better way than this. I can't get enough of Marie Leloup's lessons at present as I'm progressing well and enjoy her vocabulary at the same time.

I feel she is some kind of super human and amabassador for healhy lifestyle based on her social media and wider YouTube channel.

Learning To Perform Acoustic & Folk Music - Positive Times

I think the point in any DJ's career comes when they want tt make their own music. I'm on day three with a very long journey ahead, but I feel it's the right path.

I've hired a professional vocal coach, but with my current sore throat and cold I can't do much more than run a few trials.

I have new acoustic instruments on the way, which I'm really excited about and also proved I can record and edit music to a reasonable standard using DJ Studio and Audacity for the final output.

On the way: Stentor 2 4/4 Violin + Kmise Concert Ukelele + Angel 8.5" Drum Skin Tambourine.

When I have down days or late at night, I'll write lyrics. When I have an empty house I'll learn how to perform.

Top 10 First Dance Songs for Midlands Weddings (2025)

Top 10 First Dance Songs for Midlands Weddings (2025)

One of the most magical moments of your wedding day is the first dance. The right song sets the tone for the evening, and as a professional wedding DJ in Tamworth, I’ve seen which tracks really hit the mark. Whether you want timeless romance or something modern and fun, here are ten first dance songs that always get couples smiling and guests reaching for their phones to record the moment.

Timeless Classics

  1. At Last – Etta James
A soulful ballad that’s been a favourite at Midlands weddings for generations.

  2. Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley
    Simple, beautiful, and instantly recognisable.

  3. Unchained Melody – The Righteous Brothers
Slow and heartfelt, perfect for couples who love tradition.

Modern Love Songs

  1. Perfect – Ed Sheeran
A go-to choice for many couples in 2025, blending modern style with timeless romance.

  2. All of Me – John Legend
Emotional and personal, ideal for couples who want lyrics that truly mean something.

  3. A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
Still hugely popular thanks to its heartfelt lyrics and cinematic feel.

Fun & Unique Choices

  1. You Are the Best Thing – Ray LaMontagne
Upbeat and joyful, perfect for couples who want to keep it light-hearted.

  2. I Wanna Dance with Somebody – Whitney Houston (acoustic version)
A fresh twist on a classic that starts slow and can lead into the party vibes.

  3. Marry You – Bruno Mars
Playful, fun, and guaranteed to make your guests smile.

  4. Can’t Stop the Feeling – Justin Timberlake
For couples who want to kickstart the dancefloor straight from the first dance.

Making It Your Own

Of course, the most important thing is that your first dance feels personal. As your wedding DJ, I’ll work with you to customise the moment — whether that means mixing two songs together, editing lyrics, or planning a surprise transition to get your guests on the floor.

Wedding DJ or Spotify Playlist? Why Live DJs Make All the Difference

Wedding DJ or Spotify Playlist? Why Live DJs Make All the Difference

Planning a wedding in Tamworth or the Midlands comes with hundreds of decisions — and one of the most important is how to handle the music. Couples often ask the same question: “Do we really need to hire a wedding DJ, or can we just make a Spotify playlist?”

As a professional wedding DJ based in Tamworth, I’ve seen both approaches in action — and I can tell you that nothing beats a live DJ when it comes to creating unforgettable wedding memories.

A Playlist Can’t Read the Room

A Spotify playlist will play the same tracks in the same order no matter what’s happening on the dancefloor. But every wedding is different — and so is every crowd. A live DJ adapts in real time, switching songs when energy dips, extending tracks when the floor is packed, and keeping guests of all ages involved.

Taking Requests & Personalising the Night

Guests love making requests — whether it’s the bride’s parents asking for a Motown classic or the best man shouting for 90s anthems. A wedding DJ can filter requests on the fly, blending them seamlessly into the evening so the party feels unique to you. A playlist simply can’t do that.

Managing the Flow of Your Evening

Your wedding reception isn’t just music — it’s timing. From the first dance to the cake cutting, bouquet toss, and final song, a DJ keeps everything on track. I make announcements, adjust playlists to fit the mood, and ensure smooth transitions so there are no awkward gaps or silences.

Professional Sound & Lighting

A phone running Spotify into a speaker will never match professional wedding-grade sound and lighting. A DJ brings equipment designed to fill the room, add atmosphere, and give your evening a polished, professional feel. Plus, with backup systems in place, you’re protected if anything goes wrong.

The Difference Is in the Memories

At the end of the night, what you’ll remember is a packed dancefloor, the songs that made you sing with friends, and the energy that carried your celebration all the way to the last song. That’s what a live wedding DJ delivers.
